The date of her birth is March 29, 1985, in Roswell New Mexico. Gerina Michelle Mendoza is her birth name. Gerina Stevenson was born in Mexico as the daughter of Mexican parents Alan Stevenson and Rita Stevenson. She is both Mexican and American. Gerina has always been a fan of sports. Gerina started playing golf at the age of 15. Gerina graduated from High School studies at Goddard High School. She was the winner of the New Mexico state golf championship. She was also a volleyball player and competed at the national level. She joined Texas's University of Texas, Texas in 2003. In her senior year, she was the winner of every competition she participated. During her undergraduate career she received the honor of being named Conference USA individual champion player of the year, and was named the UTEP Female Athletics Player of the Year.
