April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4, 1995. In seventh grade she began playing guitar and taking piano lessons which ignited her love for music writing. In the seventh grade she began to take guitar and piano lessons. It sparked her interest to write songs. In her 14th year, April devoted much of her time writing and practicing songs. Then, in the following months, April began to travel with her dad and write in NY as well as LA. April began to include other relevant topics into the song, which she called the Take my Hand song for some acquaintances, including peer pressure problems and suicides among teenagers. Lockhart, a popular lifestyle blogger and being a partner with clean-cut beauty brands Ilia, has built her own fan base. The truth is that she was born without a left hand. This is what makes her different. However, this isn't the only thing about her. Lockhart's Instagram page doesn't overlook her handicap. But it also doesn't make it a point to emphasize her disability. What message is it trying to convey? There is more to us than just our physical self. Our identities are complicated and we contain many different dimensions. Lockhart through a video messages from his Nashville home, states I don't want this to define myself. I am far more than just my physical self. But it does not affect my day-to-day life. I continue to do my normal activities and I've adapted to the limitations of my disability. In addition, I see it to be a vital aspect of me. Self-acceptance is a lifelong marathon however Lockhart is an absolute inspiration in this regard. Even so, Lockhart admits that she has had periods of feeling uneasy about her appearance and wearing clothing with arms. Nowadays, she can wear whatever she'd like. and she shares her pictures to social networks. The journey itself is what I don't know that you ever arrive she says of self-love. It's a journey, I'm sure that you never arrive. It's my opinion that having those around you who really know you and see your heart is really important as they'll be the ones who will remind you what you concerned about?
