As I was a mom with one child on me and others with me in the cradle would work 12 hour shifts sanding flooring and tearing off wallpaper. Ha! Ha! It all started to seem logical, however it wasn't quite finished. To complete this task, I was prepared to shell out a substantial amount of money and time searching for the perfect home. In order to stay within the budget, I started going with my boys to estate sales looking for of diamonds. Each week we would spend between Thursday and Saturday in estate sales and garage sales, buying old and new furniture. In the end, I repainted and smoothed in the driveway in the week. Looked a little something like it... This is when my interest in the restoration of furniture first began. It didn't matter if our house had already been decorated. In the market in town I set up a little area and then sold a few pieces. Eventually, my collection grew to the point that the space I had available was not enough. More than 1000 people came to my home over the course of a weekend to purchase everything on the ground floor. Growing Days was founded in my house. Growing Days was more than a thriving business but it was also a loving family. I was finding that balance between what it took starting a new venture as well as a mother too. Growing Days seemed like the best match. The year was 2013, and my sweet daughter Nora was born. She is our fourth kiddo. My company was doing well but I wanted a rest. I took a pause from creating vintage furniture and slowed down my pace and stayed at home to take care of the kids. This was precisely what I was looking for at the moment. After a while. A lot of people contacted me seeking advice regarding home improvements and decor. These people had mostly been to my home during open houses for furniture. I began taking on clients one at a time taking my time but it didn't take time before I was running multiple accounts and was running the complete business of home remodeling. If you'd told me that my business would be the basis for a DIY Network show, I would probably have thought you were crazy. It's true that I amused when I think of it.
